"Live History. The ways to science"

This is a new project to develop a collection of memoirs of veterans of JINR.

At the regular meeting of the Board of the museum in 2013, assembled on the occasion of the Day of Science, the idea "to connect" students in sociology at the University "Dubna" to the collection of biographical material about the JINR was born. According to the plan, students must meet with scientists and record on a dictaphone their stories about how they came to science, what was a determining factor in their choice of profession.

The initiator of the idea, Advisor to the Director of JINR G. Vardenga, addressed to the doctor of historical sciences, Professor of Department of Sociology and Human Sciences of the University "Dubna" Y. Shimon, with the offer to direct students to some of our veterans and interview them for the purpose of further publications in city newspapers, and possibly a separate publication book.

For students these interviews became the basis for the test works at the Department of History. It, on the one hand, extends the scope of the museum, brings it to youth audience, and with another - involves students in fascinating process of active learning the history of the JINR.

Unlike similar work which the museum carries out traditionally on the collection and preservation of memory of the people working in different years in JINR, their contribution to science (to this item cycles of seminars and lectures are devoted - "The History of Discoveries - the Authors speak", "Personalities of the scientific Dubna"), in this project youth is directly involved in.
