April 2012. Speaker: V.Nikitin.

This seminar was dedicated to the 55th anniversary of Synchrophasotron, 105th anniversary of the birth of Veksler and the 100th anniversary of L.Zinov'ev.

V.Nikitin told about the development of high-energy physics and studies that were conducted on proton synchrotron.

These dates coincided with a number of excursions on synchrotron for employees of enterprises of the city.

March 2011. Dedicated to the 55th anniversary of JINR.

The seminar examined the history of creation of synchrophasotron and Hydrotechnical laboratory, later renamed the Institute of Nuclear Problems of Academy of Sciences of the USSR - the first of Dubna research organization on the basis of which Laboratory of Nuclear Problems of JINR was created .

Seminar participants discussed the declassified documents of the atomic project related to the construction of the first of Dubna accelerator, heard memories and testimonies about work on the construction of prisoners, about life of first physicists to come in the future Dubna; about the evaluation of first results of research on Synchrocyclotron carried out under the direction of M.Meshcheryakov and V.Dzhelepov.

In work of the seminar took an active part: B.Neganov, who worked in the Hydrotechnical Laboratory since 1951, the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences D.Shirkov, one of the most active members of the Board of the museum JINR V.Nikitin, museum staff, employees of the Institute and residents of the city.
